Continuing Professional Development Pathway

This pathway helps you demonstrate your professional development and gain professional recognition. It is for members at every level and in every role, regardless of your pathway into the sector.

Reflection is an important part of continuing professional development. It shows that you have undertaken a learning activity - not just any activity. Te Tōtara framework is used in this CPD pathway to help you in your reflections and resources are available in My Tōtara.
Find more information on the CPD pathway and watching the intro webinar by clicking the button below.

The CPD logbook below is where you create a record of your professional development activity.

The logbook logs your activity as points:

  • 1 hour = 1 point
  • Maximum points per activity = 5

As a rule of thumb, members should log the time spent actively learning, not just attending. For activities that go over several hours or days, such as courses, conferences or projects, there is a cap of 5 hours per entry.

To add an entry:

  • Start by downloading and filling in the CPD Learning Reflection form
  • Add the entry to the logbook
  • Assign the entry to a category in Te Tōtara and upload the form as an attachment.

You can download this record for any period of activity.

Write about your take-away learnings from the professional development activity such as what your important learning was and what you might do differently as a result.

PLEASE NOTE
Every entry requires a learning reflection before it is reviewed and approved.

Take a look at the advice here on how to use reflective writing.
